Mission Memorial Hospital was the first hospital in the Fraser Valley Health Region to have flat screen televisions, and is only one of two Auxiliaries where Auxilians run the service – most contract out with a private provider. If the Mission Health Care Auxiliary did not run this rental service there would be no televisions for patients – the hospital does not have enough beds to make it worthwhile for a private provider.
As a service to patients and for their comfort, the Auxiliary purchases televisions and pays for the cable service. Our Volunteers visit the wards Monday through Saturday to activate bedside televisions for patients who have ordered them.
$10 per day for the first two weeks; after the initial two-week rental, the next two weeks are free
